Music

At Anderton we use Charanga to support our music teaching, this is an online music scheme with lots of visual aids and interactive resources to support your children’s learning about music. Our children love using the glockenspiels and percussion trolley to take part practically in classroom music lessons. Take a look at our music curriculum overview below to find out what units your child will be covering in music this year.

Private keyboard and guitar lessons are available in school, which are taught by specialist music teachers.

Whole class Ukulele tuition from the Lancashire Music Service takes place weekly in Year 5.

At Christmas the whole school invite parents to join us for a Christmas sing-a-long to share the songs we have been learning and Key Stage 1 put on a nativity play with lots of singing and dancing.

To support our music teaching and provide engaging opportunities for our pupils, we often invite guests into our school. As well as having guests into school we also take groups of children out of school to take part in Young Voices and the Big Sing.
