Year 2 2025 - 2026

Welcome to Year 2

In Year 2 the class teacher is Mr O’Donohoe and the teaching assistants are Mrs Ashcroft and Mrs Wignall. Miss Carroll teaches the children on a Wednesday morning and alternate Wednesday afternoons. 

Year 2 are very lucky to get the opportunity to learn a musical instrument with Mrs Brown, our specialist music teacher, and this will take place on Monday afternoons.

We are set to have a fantastic year.  Please download our long term plan and medium term planning to see all the amazing things the children will learn in Year 2.

Our class page will keep you up to date with important information that you need to know and celebrate the good work taking place in class.

Important dates for your diary:

PE will take place on Monday and Tuesday so please make sure the children come to school in their P.E kit to school this day; they can wear outdoor or indoor P.E. kit depending on the weather.  See the uniform section of the website for more information about the P.E kit.

Outdoor Learning takes place on a Tuesday afternoon. Children must come with suitable waterproofs and footwear for this.

Homework must be returned to school on Thursday and will be sent home on Fridays.

Please make sure your child brings their reading book to school every day.  Reading books can be changed everyday and the children are expected to hand them in once they have finished reading their book.  Don’t forgot you can access lots of books using Oxford Reading Buddy.
