Welcome to Year 5!
In Year 5, the class teacher is Mr O’Donohoe and the teaching assistant is Mrs Stanley. We would like to extend a warm welcome to you as we continue our journey at Anderton Primary School.
The aim of our class page is to ensure you can access key information about our class as well as celebrate the fantastic learning that takes place in Year 5.
Mr O’Donohoe teaches us every day, except on a Tuesday morning when we will be taught by Mrs Culshaw.
PE will take place on a Tuesday and Friday afternoon. We ask that children come to school in their PE kit for the whole day so please make sure children are wearing appropriate, comfortable clothes on those days. It is important that you remember to wear the correct kit and remove all jewellery before the lessons.
One piece of homework from the homework grid must be handed in either in school or on Seesaw by Friday each week.
Spellings will be handed out on a Friday for a spelling test the following Friday. Make sure you practise at home using the spelling games given out in class (these are also available on Seesaw in the ‘Resources’ folder), or on Spelling Shed.
Awards are given on a Friday. Also on a Friday in Year 5, children will be rewarded for following the school values with Golden Time.
Please make sure your child brings their reading book and diary to school every day. Reading is an essential activity which can have an incredible impact on your child’s education so please make sure you take the time to read and enjoy books with your child regularly.
The theme for Autumn term is ‘This is Me’.
The Year 5 yearly overview and this half term’s theme overview can be found in the folder below.
Please keep checking our Facebook page to see updates of our amazing learning in Year 5!
