Welcome to Year 5!
In Year 5 the class teacher is Mr O’Donohoe and the teaching assistant is Miss Duddle. Mrs Shepherd, Mrs Hurst and Mrs Wignall also support in this class. We would like to extend a warm welcome to you as we continue our journey at Anderton Primary School.
The aim of our class page is to ensure you can access key information about our class as well as celebrate the fantastic learning that takes place in Year 5.
Mr O’Donohoe teaches us every day, except on a Thursday afternoon when we will be taught by Mrs Beveridge.
PE will take place on a Friday afternoon but make sure your kit is in school all week. In Year 5 we also swim on Tuesday mornings. It is important that you remember to bring the correct kit and remove all jewellery before the lessons or you will not be allowed to swim!
Homework must be returned to school on Thursday and will be sent home again on Fridays.
Celebration assembly takes place on a Friday where we will award our Star of the Week and VIP. A text will be sent home if your child has been chosen. On a Friday in Year 5 children will be rewarded for following the school values with Golden Time.
Please make sure your child brings their reading book to school every day.
The theme for Spring 1 is ‘Extinct, Endangered, Existing’
The Year 5 yearly overview and this half terms theme overview can be found in the folder below.
Each half term we will create a homework map for you to choose an activity to complete with your child at home. A copy of the homework map can also be found in the folder below. Please return any models, pictures and other work to school on a Thursday so we can display it in class!
Please keep checking our page to see updates of our super learning in Year 5!
